About Asgard Akitas

 I am passionate about our breed, a member of the Akita Club of America, and adhere to all the principles and rules set forth that members must adhere to. I am committed to providing the best possible care for our dogs. Our puppies are raised in a loving and nurturing environment, and we work closely with new owners to ensure that they have all the information and support they need to provide the best possible care for their new pet. 

I am breeding first for myself, to have the best version of an Akita that conforms to my ideal dog- a large, heavy-boned, bear-headed dog with clear and brilliant color, with excellent temperament and correct structure. My second goal is to preserve the breed, a breed that lives and dies by the actions of the breeders; it does cost more to accomplish this. As breeders, we all need to be mindful that we are here temporarily and our work with these dogs is what will live on. 

Lastly, patient puppy buyers will benefit from my work and the work of our breed club in general to obtain a gorgeous, healthy, well-tempered Akita to share their life with.

We adhere to the highest standards in our Akita breeding program. We only breed dogs that are healthy, happy, and have the best possible temperament. We also follow strict guidelines to ensure that our facilities and breeding practices are ethical and responsible. Our Akitas are DNA tested at UC Davis and have full OFA testing- clear DNA and normal OFAs, and excellent hips. Our dogs are Degenerative Myelopathy negative. My first Akita was a rescue and she died from DM.
